Global HR/Benefits Roundtable

Calling all employer members with global locations! Plan to attend the second meeting of the BHC's new Global HR/Benefit Roundtable on September 7th from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM. During this informal discussion, organizations will have the opportunity to converse about unique challenges associated with managing employees and benefit programs across varying cultures, government regulations, and health care systems. Attendees will also be added to a private online community to share best practices and network with other global benefit professionals at member companies.

Per the request of members, this group will remain informal and discussion-based in nature. Please come prepared to share your insights on the member questions below OR to bring additional questions to pose to the group:

1. Is anyone a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP)? If yes, has anyone completed the Certification in Global Benefits Management? If no, are there other continuing education organizations to be aware of for global markets?
2. For organizations with employees in the UK: Regarding the legislation change for the pension scheme in the UK, how did the process go for the mandatory opt-in? Did the communication piece run smoothly? Is your organization opting in people at 2% effective immediately upon eligibility or utilizing the waiting period?
3. For organizations with employees in the UK: Is your organization participating in a car allowance or commuter reimbursement program? If so, what are the parameters?
4. Please bring additional questions to discuss with the group!
